The Detroit Motor Show -- or, to give it its correct title: the North American International Auto Show -- begins next week and is the first major event on the 2013 motoring calendar.
The great and the good of the automotive world will be there, displaying shiny new models and eagerly awaited concept cars. And to give you a taster of what's on offer, we've put together a little preview of what you can expect to see at the Detroit show.
Bentley
Flying the flag for the Brits (and the Germans) in Detroit will be the new Bentley Continental GT Speed. With 616bhp and 590lb-ft of torque making for a 0-62mph time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 202mph, the new drop-top Bentley is the fastest four-seater convertible in the world.
BMW
Detroit will play host to the unveiling of BMW's new 3-Series Coupe replacement: the 4-Series (shown above). Also on display will be the firm's new 6-Series Gran Coupe and a facelifted Z4.
Cadillac
Essentially a two-door luxury coupe version of the Vauxhall Ampera/Chevrolet Volt, it's unclear whether the Cadillac ELR range-extender hybrid will make it to the UK. It will, however, go on sale stateside later this year.
Chevrolet
The seventh generation of Chevrolet's legendary Corvette will make its world debut in Detroit next week. Powered by an improved version of Chevy's legendary 6.2-litre V8, the new Corvette is claimed to be an all-new car. It will also be the first 'Vette since the 1950s to come with a six-cylinder engine.
Honda
A production version of the NSX concept first shown at last year's Detroit show is expected to go on display next week. The new hybrid NSX should develop around 400bhp thanks to its 3.5-litre V6 and in-wheel electric motors; however, production is not expected to start until 2015.
Hyundai
The fourteenth concept to come from Hyundai's California Design Studio is set to make its debut next week. It is thought to preview the next-gen Hyundai Genesis saloon.
Infiniti
The Q50 is the replacement for the old G Series saloon and is the first new model in Infiniti's frankly bonkers new naming strategy. The new model is also said to hint at the styling direction Infiniti will be taking with its new cars.
Lexus
The latest version of Alan Partridge's favourite car goes on display in Detroit next week. The new IS features styling inspired by Lexus's LF-CC concept and will compete with the BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4 when it goes on sale in the summer.
Maserati
Maserati's stunning new Quattroporte will make its debut next week and is expected to go on sale later this year with prices ranging from around £80,000 to £120,000.
Mercedes-Benz
In addition to the new E-Class, Mercedes will also be unveiling its new CLA (shown above) at the Detroit Show. Very few details have been released on the CLA but it's expected to slot into the Merc range just below the C-Class.
Toyota
Toyota's new Furia concept will make its debut at the Detroit show. Very little is known of the Furia but we can reveal that it gets lots of carbon fibre and a small boot spoiler. Plus, it's orange.
