Honda has confirmed that the production version of the new NSX supercar will make its world debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January.

The new NSX is expected to look almost identical to the concept car (pictured above) which was revealed at this year's Detroit Motor Show, and is a radical departure from the legendary original NSX which was last on sale in 2005.

The new car will be powered by a mid-mounted 3.5-litre V6 VTEC engine alongside a pair of in-wheel electric motors, and will develop around 400bhp. The power will be sent to all four wheels via Honda's SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system.

Unfortunately, if you're dying to get your hands on a NSX, you'll have to wait a while, as Honda claims that the new car will go into production in 2015.
