Chevrolet will unveil its new seventh-generation Corvette at the Detroit Motor Show next January.
And to celebrate the announcement, Chevy has revealed a new Crossed Flags logo which will be a feature of the new 'Vette.
Commenting on the new logo, GM vice president of global design Ed Welburn said: "The all-new, seventh-generation Corvette deserved an all-new emblem.
"The new Crossed Flags design reflects the character of the next Corvette. The flags are much more modern, more technical, and more detailed than before -- underscoring the comprehensive redesign of the entire car."
"With the new Corvette, we set out to build a world-challenging sports car with design, refinement, efficiency and driver engagement that is second to none," said Tadge Juechter, Corvette Chief Engineer.
"The result is a truly all-new Corvette. There are only two carryover parts from the C6 used in the C7 -- the cabin air filter and the rear latch for the removable roof panel."
In addition to an improved version of the old Corvette's 6.2-litre V8, the new C7 model will be offered with a 5.5-litre V8 engine, and an all-new, all-alloy twin-turbo V6 -- the first six-cylinder engine to be fitted to a Corvette since 1955.
The new Chevrolet Corvette C7 is expected to arrive in the UK in mid-2013.
