2012 was a fantastic year for new cars.
We got the Ferrari 458 Spider, the Ford Focus ST, the new Porsche Boxster and the Toyobaru BRZ/GT86, to name just a few. And the good news is that an equally-impressive range of new cars is due to go on sale in 2013.
So, to give you a taster of what's to come in the new year, we've cobbled together a list of the most impressive new models due for release in 2013.

VW Golf
Due: January 2013
The seventh generation of the second best-selling car of all time hits dealer forecourts next month. The new Golf is based on the VW Group's MQB platform and is bigger, lighter, faster and more environmentally friendly than the model it replaces.
Vauxhall Adam
Due: January 2013
Silly name aside, the new Vauxhall Adam is the Luton firm's first offering in the burgeoning luxury city car market. Vauxhall claims that, such are the levels of customisation possible with the new car, it is possible that no two Adams will be the same.
Renaultsport Clio 200 Turbo
Due: February 2013
Renault is the king of the small hot hatches and, with 200bhp and 177lb-ft of torque, the new Renaultsport Clio promises to be one of the most exciting small cars on the road when it reaches dealerships in February.
Citroen DS3 Cabrio
Due: Early 2013
How do you improve one of the best small cars on the road? Well, you cut its roof off. The new DS3 Cabrio combines the sheer charm of the standard DS3 with the fun of open-top driving.
Peugeot 208 GTi
Due: Spring 2013
There are those who believe that the old Peugeot 205 GTi was the greatest hot hatch ever made. The new 208 GTi has therefore got quite a reputation to uphold when it goes on sale early next year.
Vauxhall Cascada
Due: March 2013
The first mid-sized Vauxhall soft-top since the Cavalier convertible goes on sale in March and Vauxhall is hoping that the new Cascada will tempt buyers away from the Audi A5 Cab by offering premium quality at a low price.
MINI Paceman
Due: March 2013
The three-door version of the Countryman arrives in March. And although we're struggling to see the point of the new Paceman, it will almost certainly sell like hot cakes.
Jaguar F-Type
Due: Mid-2013
The spiritual successor to the legendary E-Type is an absolutely fantastic car. And, what's more, Jaguar has announced it will be offered with a proper manual gearbox.
Porsche 918
Due: November 2013
The old Porsche Carrera GT was one of the best hypercars in the world. Its successor, the new 918, should therefore be pretty good too. Porsche claims that the new car will offer almost 800bhp and return 90mpg. Impressive stuff.
McLaren P1
Due: Late 2013
And finally, the most eagerly-anticipated car of the year has to be the successor to the legendary McLaren F1. If the quality of the smaller, cheaper and less powerful MP4-12C is anything to go by, this could just be the greatest car ever made.
