The Renault Megane Sports Tourer GT Line TomTom Dci 160 will find favour with drivers who are on the road a lot. The Line trim is the most lavish in the entire Megane range and the car’s list of standard equipment like a TomTom satellite navigation system, Bluetooth and MP3 player connectivity will make it a firm favourite with fleet buyers and sales reps and tech savvy younger drivers.

PROS:  The top of the range Renault Megane Sports Tourer GT Line TomTom dCi 160 is one of the best cars in its segment. Offering sports car-style handling but with the frugality of a decent 1995cc diesel engine and the performance to match this is an ideal long distance touring car.

CONS:  Fuel consumption still not best in class, fairl high insurance premiums.

Behind the Wheel

The Renault Megane Sport Tourer GT Line TomTom Dci 160 is the equal fastest Megane in the range with a top speed of 134mph and reaching 62mph from standstill in 8.8 seconds makes it one of the quickest.

The 1995cc diesel engine delivers a crisp 160 bhp at 3750 rpm produces a healthy 280 lb ft of torque at 2000 rpm.

Despite these high performance figures the Megane GT Line TomTom dCi 160 returns a quality 47.9 mpg in fuel consumption tests and allied to a 60-litre fuel tank there will be big mileage gaps between each visit to the garage forecourt.

The car handles well on its sports chassis adding to the driving experience, with sharp and responsive steering.

Looks & Equipment

As the range topping model the Renault Megane Sport Tourer GT Line TomTom Dci 160 offers an impressive range of standard equipment which includes climate control, Bluetooth, MP3 connectivity, satellite navigation, electric front windows, electric mirrors and stability control.

It is the only estate in the range that includes cruise control and rear parking sensors as standard issue.

The current Megane is far more eye catching than its predecessor and alloy wheels, offered as standard add to the looks of this car.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

Standard safety equipment includes driver, passenger and side impact airbags and stability control.

The ample 491-litre boot will swallow most family holiday requirements and those looking for extra load space will be impressed that this figure is nearly trebled when the rear seats are lowered.

The car comes with Renault’s standard three-year or 100,000-mile warranty and the back-up of its 260-strong dealer network.

Value for Money

The Renault Megane Sport Tourer GT Line TomTom dCi 160 5dr comes with an excellent range of equipment and boasts very impressive performance figures.

Add this to its impressive fuel economy of 47.9mpg and its spacious interior, and you have a model which represents good value for money.
