PROS: Luxurious interior. Better performance credentials than the standard TT.
CONS: Expensive. Limited practicality. Limited rear visibility.
The 2.0-litre engine delivers a hefty 268 bhp at 6000 rpm with 258 lb-ft of torque on offer at 2500-5000 rpm. With a limited top speed of 155 mph and acceleration from 0-62 mph taking 5.2 seconds, the performance credentials of this model are strong and it outperforms the standard TT models comfortably.
The handling is excellent and the steering is well-weighted and precise, respondng well to the input of the driver. The chassis also feels more than capable of handling the extra power - you can take this car to the limit without a hint of understeer or oversteer thanks to the superb four-wheel-drive system.
The Audi TTS Coupe 2.0 Quattro S tronic is a fantastic looking car and offers an impressive level of standard kit. Standard features include power steering, central locking, stability control, alloy wheels, climate control, electric door mirrors, electric front windows and an advanced stereo system with CD player and MP3 connectivity.
Additional features such as Bluetooth connectivity, a built in sat nav, rear parking sensors and cruise control are all available for an extra cost. Bluetooth connectivity costs £250 whilst the built-in sat nav, rear parking sensors and cruise control cost £665, £305 and £220 respectively. Metallic paint costs £510.
All of this is the same as the standard TT Coupe range but the TTS Coupe 2.0 Quattro S tronic benefits from an upgraded interior which replaces the part-leather seats with full leather ones.
In terms of safety, this model comes fitted with driver, passenger and front side airbags as standard. An alarm and immobiliser are also standard features to protect the vehicle from theft and the car comes with a three year warranty for 60,000 miles. A service interval of 9,000-19,000 miles is recommended which means reliability should be high with maintenance costs varying.
In terms of practicality the boot offers 292 litres of space when the seats are up, increasing to 700 litres when the seats are down. There is also plenty of space in the cabin for front seat passengers with only the very tallest drivers likely to find headroom limiting.
Priced at £37,085 the Audi TTS Coupe 2.0 Quattro S tronic costs considerably more than the standard TT Coupe and you're going to have to be an enthusiastic driver to justify spending the extra cash on this model.
The Audi TTS Coupe 2.0 Quattro S tronic also falls short when it comes to economy and fuel consumption of 36.7 mpg fails to match the impressive 53.3 mpg of the diesel TT Coupe 2.0 TDI Quattro Sport or even the 42.9 mpg offered by the petrol 2.0 TFSI Quattro Sport. Even carbon emissions of 179 g/km are worse than other models and put the car into road tax bracket I. Insurance will also be higher than standard TT Coupe models under bracket 38.
