CarSite Verdict:  4/5
A diesel powered coupe that offers better efficiency and lower CO2 emissions than other models in the range, the Audi TT Coupe 2.0 TDI Quattro Sport is an attractive proposition. This diesel model is also cheaper than the equivalent petrol and has the same great looks as its petrol-powered brethren.

PROS:  With impressive carbon emissions and fuel economy for a sports car, this model is much cheaper to keep on the road than some of the other models in the range.

CONS:  The TT is expensive and rear visibility is limited.

Behind the Wheel

The 2.0 litre engine in this TT produces 168 bhp and 258 lb-ft of torque. With a top speed of 140 mph and a 0-62 mph time of 7.5 seconds, the performance credentials of this model are very impressive.

The engine is superb, delivering its power instantaneously without a hint of turbo lag. The steering is also very impressive, feeling connected and precise and the ride is absolutely superb for a coupe - you honestly feel like you're in a much bigger car.

Looks & Equipment

The TT is a great looking car and comes with an impressive list of standard equipment including power steering, central locking, stability control, alloy wheels, climate control, electric door mirrors, electric front windows, a part-leather interior and an advanced stereo system with CD player and MP3 connectivity.

Additional features such as Bluetooth connectivity, a built in sat nav, rear parking sensors and cruise control are all available for an extra cost. Bluetooth connectivity costs £250 whilst the built-in sat nav, rear parking sensors and cruise control cost £665, £305 and £220 respectively.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

The TT is relatively practical for a coupe, offering high levels of comfort for front passengers, although taller drivers may find that headroom is at a slight premium.

An impressive level of safety kit is included as standard including driver, passenger and front side airbags. An alarm and immobiliser are also fitted to protect the vehicle from theft and the car comes with a three year warranty for 60,000 miles. A service interval of 9,000-19,000 miles is recommended and that means maintenance costs can vary.

The TT is fairly practical for a coupe with 292 litres of boot space on offer when the seats are up, and 700 litres when the seats are down.

Value for Money

Priced at £28,300, you really do get a lot of car for your money thanks to the TT's excellent performance credentials and impressive level of standard equipment.

Fuel consumption is very impressive thanks to the TT's clean diesel engine and you should achieve 53.3 mpg on the combined cycle. CO2 emissions of 139 g/km mean the car is placed into road tax bracket E making it eminently affordable for a coupe. Insurance will be fairly high under bracket 32.

Overall, drivers must decide whether the enhanced fuel economy offered by the diesel model is worth it. Those looking for all-out performance will be more likely to opt for the 2.0 litre petrol version, the Audi TT Coupe 2.0 TFSI Sport which, although slightly more expensive, offers better performance figures than the diesel.
