PROS: With faster acceleration than other TT Roadster models, this is a striking car which moves quickly and makes a clear impression on the road.
CONS: The additional cost over the two-wheel drive models comes with few benefits and performance levels are only marginally improved.
The TT Roadster 2.0 TFSI quattro Sport's engine delivers 208 bhp at 4300-6000 rpm and 258 lb-ft of torque at 1500-4200 rpm. 0-62 mph takes 6.2 seconds and flat out you'll be doing 151mph.
The steering is quick and precise and responds well to the driver. Comfort levels are excellent and the soft-top roof does a very good job of filtering out noise from the road and wind. Even better than this is the handling, though. In most convertibles, the handling is compromised by the removal of the roof. Not so in the TT Roadster 2.0 TFSI quattro Sport. The car feels planted and stable even at higher cornering speeds.
In terms of internal equipment, the Audi TT Roadster 2.0 TFSI S-line offers a number of features as standard fittings. Standard features include power steering, central locking, stability control, alloy wheels, climate control, electric door mirrors, electric front windows, a part leather interior and an advanced stereo system with CD player and MP3 connectivity.
Additional features such as Bluetooth connectivity, a built in sat nav, rear parking sensors and cruise control are all available for an extra cost. Bluetooth connectivity costs £250 whilst the built-in sat nav, rear parking sensors and cruise control cost £665, £305 and £220 respectively.
It should be easy to get comfortable in the TT as there is a lot of adjustment within the front seats and the steering column. The internal instruments are well arranged and this makes operating them easy when driving.
In terms of safety, this model comes fitted with driver, passenger and front side airbags as standard. An alarm and immobiliser are also fitted to protect the vehicle from theft and the car comes with a three year warranty for 60,000 miles with a service interval of 9,000-19,000 miles recommended.
In terms of practicality, the boot offers 250 litres of space.
Priced at £32,130, the TT Roadster 2.0 TFSI Quattro Sport is quite highly priced for a TT and it is difficult to square the extra cost against a fairly small performance advantage and a bit more standard equipment.
The Audi TT Roadster 2.0 TFSI Quattro Sport also comes with fairly high running costs and the fuel economy of 38.2 mpg becomes more expensive when you consider this model runs on super unleaded petrol. Carbon emissions of 172 g/km are some of the highest for TT models and put the car into road tax bracket H making this another cost for drivers to contend with. Insurance premiums will be also be fairly high falling under insurance bracket 34.
