Images of the new Subaru WRX STI have appeared online just days ahead of the car's official unveiling at this year's Detroit Motor Show.
As you can see, the WRX STI has an altogether more purposeful and menacing look than the standard WRX, which was revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November. The car is painted in Subaru's iconic World Rally Blue, teamed with the obligatory gold alloy wheels.
No information on the WRX STI's mechanicals has yet been released. The standard WRX is powered by a 2.0-litre boxer engine with 268bhp and 258lb-ft of torque and we're expecting a power output in excess of 300bhp for the STI.
It remains unclear whether the WRX or the WRX STI will be making it to British shores.
The Detroit Motor Show runs from 13 to 26 January.
