A new Lexus F model has been previewed in a teaser image ahead of its debut at next year's Detroit Motor Show.

Although no official details have been released as yet, it has been speculated that the new model could be an F-badged version of the Lexus RC concept which was revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show last month.

The photo shows that the new car will feature a new design of alloy wheel along with a bulging wheel arch and side vents reminiscent of those featured on the old IS-F.

Under the bonnet, the new car is rumoured to be fitted with a 5.0-litre V8 engine and although Lexus has not released any performance details, it has claimed that the car will "deliver performance synonymous with Lexus's heritage of F-designated performance models."

More details will be revealed when the car makes its debut at Detroit in January.
