Infiniti has released the first official image of its new Q30 Concept, which will have its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Until now, the only glimpse we've seen of Infiniti's new BMW 1 Series and Mercedes A-Class-rivalling concept has been in the form of ambiguous teaser sketches; however, we've now been afforded a look at how the concept will actually look when it debuts in Frankfurt.
Infiniti claims that the Q30 will target a new generation of premium customers and provoke a "radical shift" in the premium compact segment. The concept has been specifically design to "challenge categorisation," with Infiniti claiming that the concept is not a coupe, nor a hatch or a crossover, but a combination of these three body styles.
As a result, Infiniti claims that the Q30 offers the "sportiness of a coupe, the roominess of a hatch and the higher stance of a crossover."
The Infiniti Q30 will go into production at Nissan's Sunderland factory in 2015, creating 280 jobs at the factory and a further 700 UK jobs in the supply chain. More than 60,000 examples are expected to be produced in the first year.
