Pictures of the new Mercedes C-Class' interior have appeared online, ahead of the car's planned official debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January.
It was only yesterday we showed you images which revealed the interior of the new V-Class, and like the V-Class the C-Class will be offered with a new touch-pad control interface for its infotainment systems. A seven-inch touchscreen will be offered as standard, with buyers also having the option of upgrading to an 8.4-inch screen.
Unlike the new S-Class, which features a fully digital dashboard, the new C-Class retains some traditional analogue dials. However, that's not to say that the C-Class is bereft of tech. Mercedes claims that the new car incorporates many of the driver assist systems which were first seen on the new S-Class. There's even a new air-conditioning system which uses GPS data to detect tunnels and automatically shuts the air recirculation flaps to prevent exhaust fumes from entering the car.
Although the new C-Class will be bigger than the outgoing model, it will weigh around 100kg less, which Mercedes claims will translate into a 20 per cent improvement in fuel consumption.
More information on the C-Class is likely to be released before the end of the year, ahead of the car's Detroit debut.
