PROS: The 911 GTS PDK Cabriolet is a fantastic car which offers good handling, sublime performance and stunning looks.
CONS: It will be costly to buy and maintain and it's not the most practical car in the world.
The Porsche 911 GTS's 3.8-litre flat six engine produces 402bhp at 7300rpm and 309lb-ft of torque at 4200rpm. 0-62mph takes 4.6 seconds - two tenths slower than the coupe - and flat out you'll be doing 189mph.
The PDK gearbox is excellent and decreases the 0-62mph time by 0.2 seconds. The handling, as you would expect, is superb and the 911 GTS has loads of grip. The steering is fast, accurate and well weighted and provides the driver with plenty of feedback through the wheel.
The 911 GTS PDK Cabriolet looks great from any angle and the interior is beautifully made from high quality materials.
Standard equipment includes alloys, air-con, climate control, electric windows and a CD player. Optional extras include Sat-Nav (£1311), Bluetooth (£445), MP3 connectivity (£227), rear parking sensors (£348), cruise control (£299) and metallic paint (£745).
As with any soft-top convertible, the roof will be a weak point for security, but you do get deadlocks and an alarm. Every 911 also comes with front, side airbags and head airbags. Porsche's stability management system is fitted as standard, and anti-rollover bars pop up behind the rear seats in the event of a rollover accident.
911s are very reliable cars thanks to their faultless German engineering and are supplied with a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty as standard.
The rear seats are strictly for children - and small children at that - and the boot is very small with just 105-litres on offer.
At £87,774, the 911 GTS PDK Cabriolet is not cheap but it is by no means the most expensive 911 you can buy.
It won't be cheap to run either, returning just 27.7mpg (combined) and emitting 240g/km of CO2, putting it in VED band L. However, these are piffling costs if you've got £87k to spend on a car.
