Ford Mondeo Overview

The model delivers an accomplished ride along all roads with sharp handling and responsive steering. The drive is also very refined, down to the car’s impressive road grip, making the Mondeo an excellent choice for high mileage drivers.

The interior of the car is incredibly spacious, with supportive seats that are very adjustable to help maximise comfort. Head and legroom is provided in abundance, both in the front and the rear, in addition to a boot space that caters for vast amounts of luggage.

The Ford Mondeo comes with a high level of equipment as standard, including air conditioning, cruise control, heated windscreen, Bluetooth and MP3 connectivity.

A huge range of engines are available, as is a 6-speed double-clutch automatic transmission. The diesel engines offer the best fuel consumption rates.

The Ford Mondeo was released in its first generation in 1993.

The car was a completely new design for Ford, which had demanded high development costs. This model was produced as a 4-door saloon, a 5-door hatchback and a 5-door estate. Several levels of trim were available.

The second generation Mondeo, released in 1996, received a restyled exterior shape and offered more interior space. The safety of the vehicle had been improved, and in 1998 the Zetec engine was upgraded to become more refined.

The Mondeo entered its third generation in 2000. This model was considerably larger than its predecessor and safety levels were again improved upon. Standard levels of equipment were more favourable and the engine selection had been revised.

The current generation of the Ford Mondeo has been in production since 2007. In addition to its availability with very high levels of equipment, there is a vast range of engines to choose from. The car received a facelift in 2010, sporting minor exterior modifications.

The Ford Mondeo offers reliability, durability, comfort and refinement. The versatile 5-seater is incredibly spacious and makes the perfect family car.
