Volvo have come out tops at the annual Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of the Year Awards for the second year in succession.

The Volvo XC40 premium compact SUV drove off with the overall 2020 title, succeeding the XC60 which won the award twelve months ago.

The XC40 came out first in a field of 36 vehicles tested by expert judges at the Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire.  Each car underwent a technical inspection before being put through their paces by a specialist driving team.

The XC40’s 190bhp 2.0-litre D4 diesel gives the car impressive pulling power even when fully laden, while its all¬-wheel drive system ensures stable handling on all surfaces and in all conditions.  With the latest connectivity systems included as standard, the XC40 helps make life on the move as convenient as possible, while a range of accessories including roof boxes, bike carriers, ski and canoe carriers, and back seat dog harnesses help make it the ideal car for the family getaway.
