Volvo scored a double whammy at the UK Car of the Year Awards, winning both the Best Small Hatch and Best Estate crowns.
The categories were won by the XC40 and V60 respectively, with both models are now in contention for the overall Car of the Year award which is currently held by another Volvo, the XC60.
The UK Car of the Year Awards judging panel comprises 29 of the UK’s most respected motoring journalists, who praised the XC40’s originality and design appeal, and commended the V60’s practicality, comfort, and value.
Both models have also been a hit with UK customers since launch, helping push Volvo’s new car sales figures to a 28-year high last year. Early indications are that 2019 will be even better, with news of the awards coming hot-on-the-heels of the release of January sales figures which are up by 80% on 2018.
