Volkswagen have announced a number of improvements to the Golf Cabriolet range, including new colour options, a sportier exterior, and upgraded interior.
The changes to the four-seater soft top will come into effect for the 2016 model year, and will be revealed in the flesh at the Frankfurt International Motor Show on 15 September.
Immediately noticeable are redesigned front and rear bumpers, and striking side sills. There are six new exterior paint colours, as well as an extra colour option for the soft-top hood. Six new wheel designs also come into effect for the 2016 model year, as do new steering wheels, trim, and new designs for both the cloth and leather seats.
The range of four petrol and two diesel engines, all of which are direct-injection turbocharged, are now fully Euro 6 emissions compliant.
Other additions to the new Golf Cabriolet include new radio and infotainment systems, with the option of the Discover Media SatNav. These enable smartphone connectivity and internet-based information channels for online traffic information, news, vehicle status, and weather. The navigation system can help locate services such as restaurants, museums, cinemas, and even free parking spaces.
