The forthcoming Geneva Motor Show will see Honda unveil the all-new CR-V.
The new generation of the popular SUV boasts a fresh new look, with broad wheel arches, sharp contours on the bonnet and rear quarters, and the up-to-date Honda family face with signature headlight graphic. Thinner A-pillars, sculpted front and rear bumpers, and under-engine and under-floor covers optimise the CR-V’s aerodynamic efficiency. Honda’s Active Shutter Grille system further improves the new CR-V’s fuel efficiency.
Inside is an all-new dashboard layout with two 7-inch displays, while interior space is increased significantly for both occupants and luggage. A new two-position boot floor provides a flat load surface, while a Hands-Free Action power tailgate eases loading access. The tailgate height can be programmed to avoid contact with low ceilings, and the flexible cabin flexibility has three-mode centre-console storage and new single-action ‘dive down’ 60:40 split-fold second-row seat.
A seven seat petrol-powered version will be on offer for the first time in the history of the CR-V, while in another European first for the model there will also be the option of the Honda Intelligent Multi Mode Drive hybrid system. The latter consists of a 2.0 litre i-VTEC Atkinson cycle petrol engine plus two electric motors.
A 1.5-litre VTEC TURBO petrol engine is also available, with a choice of either a six-speed manual gearbox or CVT automatic transmission.
Delivery of the all-new CR-V will commence later this year.
