The Range Rover Velar has been crowned World Car Design of the Year at the 2018 World Car Awards.
The Range Rover Velar has super-slim Matrix Laser-LED headlights, flush deployable door handles, and sleek Touch Pro Duo infotainment system to accentuate an already striking body. The range of engines is extensive, from the clean and efficient 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel to the fearsome 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol. The UK-built Velar is priced from £44,830 on-the-road. The design impressed the judges enough to see off stiff competition from the Volvo C60 and Lexus LC 500, emulating the success of its Jaguar F-PACE sibling 12 months ago.
“The Range Rover Velar brings a new dimension of modernity to the Range Rover family with an abundance of innovative technologies, all making this vehicle a joy to drive and be driven in”, said Land Rover’s Chief Designer Gerry McGovern.
“We’re honoured that the jury recognised the tireless endeavours of our designers and engineers in delivering a vehicle with compelling design, tailored technology and relevant innovation which come together to create a vehicle of instant desirability.”
