Porsche has revealed a teaser image of the production version of its forthcoming Macan SUV ahead of the car's debut at next month's Los Angeles Motor Show.
The images, which were posted on Porsche's official website, don't give very much away about the new Porsche; however, we do know that the Macan will be offered with a choice of V6 petrol engines, four-cylinder petrol engines and two diesels, with power outputs ranging from 190bhp in the base diesel to 395bhp in the 3.6-litre turbocharged V6.
Porsche has also revealed the economy figures for the new car, claiming that the Macan will return between 30.7mpg and 46.3mpg and emit between 159g/km and 216g/km, depending on the model.
Unsurprisingly, there are strong hints of existing Porsche models in the Macan's styling. The front end has undertones of the Porsche 911 while at the back the rear light clusters seem to have been inspired by the new Panamera.
The Macan will not only become the cheapest model in the Porsche range, with the cheapest diesel slightly undercutting the entry-level Porsche Boxster, but Porsche predicts that it will also become the firm's biggest-selling model. Given the huge success enjoyed by the Porsche's nearest rival, the Range Rover Evoque, we'd be very surprised if this wasn't the case.
