More than 130,000 Nissan Micras are due to be recalled after Nissan discovered a potential fault with the cars' steering.
The recall affects 841,000 cars, including certain models of the Nissan Micra produced in Britain between 2002 and 2006, as well as a number of Nissan Cube models built in Japan during the same period. The Cube is not on sale in the UK.
Nissan claims that a bolt used in the steering wheel was not screwed on properly. The firm is quick to point out that there is no danger of sudden steering failure and no accidents involving the cars have been reported.
Drivers will, however, notice if the steering wheel starts to become loose, Nissan claims.
The repair is estimated to take around 15 minutes and involves either the tightening of the affected bolt or the replacement of the steering wheel.
It's not the first time cars built by Nissan have been subject to a recall. Only last month the firm was forced instigate a recall of more than 3.4 million cars after a fault with the passenger airbag was discovered.
