Mazda has entered the crossover SUV market with the unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show of its all-new CX-3 model.
The CX-3 is the fifth model to join Mazda’s new-generation of vehicles featuring the company’s award-winning SKYACTIV technology, and is joined on the LA show stand by the all-new MX-5, the 2015-model CX-5, and the 2015-model Mazda6.
The Mazda CX-3 will go on sale in Japan next spring, before being rolled out in global markets. In Europe, the CX-3 will come with three engine options; two SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre petrol engines in two power versions, and the new 1.5-litre SKYACTIV-D clean diesel engine. There will also be two choices of transmission, with six-speed SKYACTIV-Drive automatic and six-speed SKYACTIV-MT manual options available. The Mazda CX-3 will be offered as both a front-wheel drive, or with Mazda’s new-generation all-wheel drive system.
Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE active safety systems will be included, as well as an infotainment package featuring the MZD Connect in-car connectivity system.
Full specification and pricing structures for the Mazda CX-3 will be confirmed closer to the model’s sale launch.
