Maserati will use next week’s Geneva Motor Show to reveal the first SUV offering from the brand.
Called the Levante, the striking design bears familial resemblance to the rest of the Maserati range, most notably the three iconic air vents on the front wings, the trapezoidal C-pillar, and the large, frameless door windows. A tapered rear gives of high-performance sports car vibes, but the Levante is designed to be comfortable both on and off road with sophisticated electronic suspension, controlled damping, air springs, intelligent all-wheel drive, and an 8-speed automatic transmission which has been specially calibrated SUV model. The Levante will come with petrol and diesel engine options, all of which are Euro 6 compliant.
First examples of the Maserati Levante have already rolled off the production line at the Mirafiori plant in Turin, in anticipation of a European launch this spring and the rest of the world to follow later this year.
