Jaguar Land Rover have reason to celebrate, after it was announced this week that the all-electric Jaguar I-PACE has been voted European Car of the Year.

It is the first time a Jaguar has won the European Car of the Year crown, voted for by a jury of 60 motoring journalists from across the continent.  The I-PACE came out top from a finalists’s category in which it was the only zero emissions contender.

The I-PACE was confirmed last week as UK Car of the Year for 2019, and with the latest announcement has now won 55 awards globally since its launch last year.

Prof. Dr. Ralf Speth, Chief Executive Officer, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “For our first electric vehicle to also be the first Jaguar to win European Car of the Year gives us a huge sense of pride.  I-PACE was designed and engineered in the UK from a clean sheet of paper.  It is the most technologically advanced battery electric vehicle.  It’s a true game-changer.  Winning European Car of the Year is an honour and real recognition of what our world-class team has delivered.”
