SsangYong has announced it will unveil its new XLV concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The XLV concept, which standards for 'eXciting smart Lifestyle Vehicle', is described by the company as "a multi-role B-segment SUV concept" which is powered by a hybrid drivetrain consisting of a 1.6-litre diesel engine mated to an electric motor which is fed by a lithium ion battery.

At 4430mm long, 1845mm wide and 1600mm high, the XLV is 290mm longer than the its predecessor, XIV-1 concept which was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011. There is space inside for seven passengers in an innovative 2+2+2+1 seating pattern, where the seventh seat can slide between the second and third rows for flexibility.

The XLV also showcases SsangYong's new design philosophy, dubbed 'Nature born 3 motion', which the company claims "is aimed at appealing to the smart user who is active and seeks individuality and practicality."
