The Nissan BladeGlider concept has received its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Inspired by the DeltaWing racing car, the BladeGlider is an electric sports car which is powered by an electric motor powered by lithium-ion batteries, both of which are located between the rear wheels to provide perfect weight distribution.

The BladeGlider, which was unveiled publicly last year at the Tokyo Motor Show, features carbon-fibre bodywork and a narrow front track which Nissan claims aids aerodynamic efficiency. Inside, the driver sits centrally, with room for an extra two passengers on either side -- a layout pioneered by the McLaren F1.

But despite its high-tech powertrain and sci-fi looks, it's rumoured that the BladeGlider will be going into production at some point within the next three years.
