Volvo have added a second electrified model to the XC40 compact SUV range.
The new Volvo XC40 Recharge Plug-in Hybrid T4 combines a 129bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine, an 82hp electric motor, and a 10.7kWh rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which allied with a seven-speed automatic transmission gives a fuel economy up to 134.mpg. It has an official CO2 emissions figure of just 47g/km, but can cover up to 27 miles on electric power alone.
First UK deliveries of the XC40 Recharge Plug-in Hybrid T4 are expected in October, with prices starting from £39,130 on-the-road for the R-Design specification and £39,475 for the Inscription model. Both are available to order now at Volvo retailers.
If you're looking for a fully electric model, there's also the Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric with a range of 259 miles.
