Volkswagen has used the New York International Auto Show to unveil four new concept versions of the Beetle.

The first, a jeans-inspired cabriolet model, is one of two soft top concepts on display.  Called the Beetle Cabriolet Denim, it features a Stonewashed Blue Metallic finish, and a dark blue hood made from a specially-designed textured fabric.

The second cabriolet is called the Beetle Wave, a Habanero Orange Metallic finished model inspired by the East and West coast beaches of the USA.  Inside the model are 50s and 60s influenced centre seat panels and a wooden dashpad.

The Beetle Pink Edition is a fashion influenced model finished, as the name suggests, in a bright pink shade billed as Fuschine Metallic.  The coupe model boasts contrasting interior and exterior elements in black, chrome, and aluminium finish.

Finally, the sporty Beetle R-Line Concept is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI engine which produces 217bhp. The Oryx White Pearl Effect finish is accentuated by high-gloss bumpers, wraparound panelling, and rear spoiler, while inside are bucket seats and leather-carbon effect highlights.
