With news of the classic Type 2 Volkswagen Camper's imminent demise still ringing in our ears, we thought we'd show you one way of continuing to enjoy VW's venerable bus long after the final models have rolled off the production line.

Volkswagen Camper to end production after 63 years

This, as I'm sure you can tell, is a tent. But unlike most tents, it's exactly the same shape and size as a classic 1965 T1 Campervan.

It's the work of a British company called The Monster Factory (www.themonsterfactory.com), who amongst other things specialise in producing outdoor and camping equipment designed around the Volkswagen camper van.

The tent has two double-sized rooms, making it capable of sleeping four adults and it's even tall enough for a six-footer to stand up inside without bending down.

Monster claims that "every detail is exact to the original, apart from the small matter of a lack of engine!" However, given that the original camper was made from steel and didn't need a set of guy ropes to stop it blowing away, we don't think this is entirely true.

It's not cheap -- there's one for sale on Amazon at the moment for £379; however, given that a good T1 camper could set you back more than £30,000 these days, you could argue that it's a cheap way into VW camper ownership.
