UK car market is top for Isuzu European sales | Industry - Car News Feb 2012

Isuzu has seen sales in the UK market rise by more than 10% - making it the highest performing market for the vehicle manufacturer across Europe.

The total percentage rise for the UK sales was 11% for last year, topping the European sales chart for Isuzu.

This result marks the first time that the UK market has topped the chart – with the distribution of vehicles in this region managed by I. M. Group.

In addition to the 11% increase over the past year, the sales figures for the UK have remained positive for a number of years. Over the past three years, UK sales have more than doubled, thus leading to the successful figures currently experienced.

The positive figures saw the UK market beat their closest rivals – Turkey and France. Turkey’s market was closest to matching that of the UK, but their sales figures of 2,296 units still lagged behind the UK’s impressive 2,431 units.

France was left even further behind, just managing to breach the 2,000 threshold with 2,003 units sold.

The Isuzu Rodeo range offers a number of options to customers, including the entry-level 136bhp 2.5 Single Cab to the top-of-the-range 163bhp 3.0 Denver Max LE Auto.

The figures can be interpreted as a positive sign for the automotive industry: signalling a potential for renewed and intensified growth.

Commenting on the result, the General Manager for Isuzu, William Brown, explained how the market had ‘responded very positively’ to the Isuzu Rodeo range and labelled the sales results a “testament to the vehicle’s growing reputation as a dependable load-lugger.”

Eager to avoid complacency, Brown also commented on the future plans for the brand and its successes.

“Our challenge for 2012 is to build our sales momentum and maintain our status as Isuzu’s number one market in Europe”, he explained.

2012 will see an all-new model debuted to replace the Rodeo – providing UK dealerships with a real opportunity to establish themselves as the number one market for these popular vehicles.
