Toyota will reveal an innovative new form of personal transportation at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month.
The new Toyota FV2 is... well we're not exactly sure what it is actually but Toyota claims it is a "concept designed to capture the spirit of Toyota's fun-to-drive philosophy."
You really can't think of the FV2 in car terms. There's no steering wheel; instead, it is operated by the driver shifting his or her body to move the vehicle forwards or back, left or right.
Toyota goes to some length to point out how the FV2 can develop a relationship with its driver. The vehicle uses voice and image recognition to determine the driver's mood and suggest destinations. The body colour and exterior display can also be changed at will.
In addition to this, the FV2 uses an intelligent transport system to connect with other vehicles and the road network to capture safety information, for example warning drivers of vehicles in blind spots or at junctions.
