Small things are funny; it's a scientifically proven fact. Ronnie Corbett is funny. Verne Troyer is funny. Felipe Massa is funny.
So, to prove that size really doesn't matter, we've scoured the 'net for the smallest car-related objects we could find. Take a look at the tiniest objects the world of motoring has to offer.
Tiny V12
Car-makers worldwide are scaling down their engines -- Ford has the EcoBoost, Fiat has the TwinAir -- but we're not convinced that the world is ready for a minuscule V12. This microscopic engine is made of 261 pieces and took 1,220 man hours to create. I'm guessing that the guy who made is (recently) single.

Peel P50
Made in the 1960s on the Isle of Man, the Peel P50 failed to capture the public's imagination in the way that the BMC Mini did. This is a pity because, as Clarkson ably demonstrates on Top Gear, the P50 is clearly the greatest car… in the world.

Postman Pat's Van
This guy has turned one of those coin-operated distractions for children into a bona-fide road-legal car. I don't know what would put me off driving it more: the lack of safety features or the endless scope for ridicule.

Toyota AA
When it comes to sheer tininess, however, the Toyota AA has to take the biscuit. The AA is the size of a grain of rice and contains 24 parts. However, the most amazing thing about this minute motor is that it actually works! Thanks to its tiny engine, the AA can hit 6mm per second -- faster than many Hyundais.
Model Ferrari
Jeremy Clarkson investigates a man with too much time on his hands in this next clip. This chap has built a working miniaturised replica of a Ferrari 312 in his garage. One can only marvel at the attention to detail apparent in this tiny model.

Fireman Sam's second car
And lastly, the world's smallest fire engine, courtesy of thespadeinator via YouTube. Mr Spadeinator says: "I was sitting on a friends lawn and heard a siren. I thought...what the hell is that siren coming from? Is there an emergency? And got up to see that ridiculous thing booking it (*sarcasm*) down the road. My friend says that it is a legit firetruck, but what could that thing honestly do to a fire? Make it laugh itself to death?"
