The world's car manufacturers are heading to Canary Wharf today for the 17th annual Motorexpo event.
Due to the cancellation of the British International Motor Show, Motorexpo is now the largest event of its kind in the UK, and a number of the world's biggest car marques will be displaying brand new models at the London event.
There will be more than 250 cars on display and organisers are expecting 425,000 visitors to attend the event this week.
Cars which will make their UK debut at Motorexpo include the all-new Kia Cee'd, the Chrysler 300C and the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Also on display will be the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage, the Bentley Continental GT V8 coupe, the Ferrari FF, the Lamborghini Aventador and the Tesla Roadster. Those interested in electric-car technology will be pleased to note that Nissan's Leaf and Vauxhall's Ampera will also be present.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to drive some of the cars on display. Motorexpo's driveme programme allows attendees to drive models from BMW, Kia, Lexus, Nissan, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz. To participate in this programme, it is necessary to log onto the Motorexpo website and register your interest in advance.
Commenting on the show, Motorexpo CEO Graeme Carver said, "Motorexpo continues to grow year-on-year and this summer’s event is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever. Our roster is brimming with leading mainstream and prestige car manufacturers, and the unmatched promise of being able to get up close to the latest models is going to be a major draw."
Motorexpo opens today and continues until Sunday. The event is open from 10am-6pm Monday-Saturday and then 11am-5pm on Sunday. Details of how to get to the event can be found on the Motorexpo website.
