At this year’s Volkswagen Group Evening, Skoda presented its new design concept, called VisionD.
Whilst presenting the firm's new corporate design, Skoda claimed that updating and improving the outward style and looks of their vehicles, to match the high build quality and reliability they are known for, will be a key part of their future strategy. The firm showcased their new vision for the future design of Skoda cars with the new 'VisionD' concept car.
The VisionD concept was presented under the slogan 'The New Power of Skoda', and seeks to take characteristic Skoda design elements and move them forwards. It includes a long wheelbase with short overhangs, which aim to maximise the interior space of the vehicle. At the back, the tailgate is integrated seemlessly into the rest of the car rather than standing out as a feature on its own. The front end of the car retains a fairly classic looking Skoda design, but the curving roofline gives a more dynamic appearance, hinting that Skoda may be trying to make their next generation of cars a little bit more sporty and sexy.
Inside the car, the distinctive Skoda modular design emphasises practicality and has no major departures from previous vehicles in terms of style, but is refreshed to look more modern.
Alongside the new car the firm also unveiled a new look logo, which features on the badge of the VisionD concept.
