Mitsubishi has unveiled three new concept cars which will make their debut at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month.
First up is the new GC-PHEV (centre), a plug-in hybrid SUV concept. Fitted with a 3.0-litre V6 engine mated to an electric motor and an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the GC-PHEV is a next-generation full-size SUV. The GC-PHEV also comes with Mitsubishi's Super All Wheel Control system, which the manufacturer claims "delivers superior handling, stability as well as the all-terrain capability an SUV offers."
The XR-PHEV (right) previews a new plug-in hybrid SUV which Mitsubishi claims "offers nimble drivability and a body style resembling a sport coupe." Powered by a turbocharged 1.1-litre engine coupled to an electric motor, the XR-PHEV could preview the replacement for the existing ASX crossover in the Mitsubishi line-up.
Lastly, the new Concept AR (left) is a next-generation compact MPV which Mitsubishi claims "offers both the mobility of an SUV and the occupant space of an MPV." The Concept AR is fitted with a small direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine and features an "enveloping interior design" which Mitsubishi claims provides comfort for all passengers.
The Tokyo Motor Show begins on 22 November.
