Mercedes has been honoured by CarBuyer magazine with its S-Class winning the prestigious 'Best Luxury Car' award.

Readers of the popular magazine stated that the most important features they look for in a car include running costs, safety, economy, performance and owner satisfaction, as well as reliability and comfort.

Based on these factors, the team of judges from the magazine rated every new car launched in the UK market during the last 12 months, with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class coming out on top.

"Beautifully built and offering unrivalled comfort, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is still the best luxury car on sale," said the judges.

Aside from this prize, Mercedes-Benz S-Class has also landed the WhatCar? 'Best Luxury Car of the Year' for seven consecutive years. The manufacturing giant has also consistently won the Auto Express 'Best Luxury Car' with the S-Class model.

Marcus Breitschwerdt, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz UK, commented; "We know we have a great car in the S-Class, a pinnacle of luxurious motoring at its best. Our flagship saloon has continued to impress since we launched it in 2005 but we haven't rested on our laurels."

S 350 BlueTEC

Since its launch in 2005, more than 440,000 S-Class vehicles have been sold worldwide, with 13,800 of these being sold in the British market. Nowadays, the S 350 BlueTEC starting price is £60,605.00 and the S 350 BlueTEC LWB is available on the road from £64,605.00.

Mercedes also improved its CO2 emissions in the S 350 BlueTEC, reducing them by 7% which should result in 154g/km of CO2 output. In addition, the car now returns 45.6 mpg on the combined cycle, which represents an improvement of 10%.
