McLaren has begun construction of the MP4-12C and plans to produce 1000 examples before the end of the year.

The new model will be built at McLaren's new £40 million Production Centre which will be finished in May. The new Production Centre is adjacent to the existing McLaren Technology Centre.

The new McLaren will be priced at £168,500 in Britain and will be sold through McLaren's thirty five dealers, one of which is the famous centre in Kensington in London. McLaren has spent the last twelve months touring its new models, as well as putting the MP4-12C through a stringent testing regime.
