Judges at the annual Auto Express New Car Awards awarded the Mazda MX-5 the 'Best Roadster' award for the sixth year in succession.
Acting Editor of Auto Express, Graham Hope said, "A short blast behind the wheel is all you'll need to understand why the latest MX-5 is such as smash hit. For smiles-per-mile at an affordable price, nothing else comes close."
The Mazda saw off competition from the Audi TT, Mercedes SLK, Lotus Elise, Porsche Boxster, BMW Z4, Nissan 370Z and the Renault Wind to claim its victory.
The MX-5 is the best-selling roadster in automotive history and is currently on sale in the UK with prices starting from £16,990.
