The latest technology on offer from Mazda will be on display at next week’s Gadget Show Live.
Mazda will be using the event, which takes place at Birmingham’s NEC, to demonstrate new developments such as Smart City Brake Support, Rear Cross Traffic alert, and i-stop idle-stop systems. The demonstrations will take the form of both a static display stand, featuring the all-new Mazda CX-3, as well as the Mazda Driving Experience, a low-speed driving area which allows drivers to try out some of the new features for themselves.
The Smart City Brake Support is a new safety system designed to help avoid or minimise the effects of low-speed collisions by monitoring both the gap and closing speed to the vehicle in front using lasers, and applying brakes at speeds up to approximately 20mph.
The Rear Cross Traffic Alert system warns the driver of vehicles or objects approaching to the sides or rear, using both visible and audible signals, and is designed to assist drivers when reversing out of parking spaces. The Mazda Driving Experience, open to those with a valid driving licence, will also be used to demonstrate the fuel saving i-stop idle-stop system on Mazda’s latest SKYACTIV engine.
Steve Tomlinson, Mazda UK’s Head of Fleet, said: "We're delighted to be attending the Gadget Show Live as it gives us the opportunity to highlight the impressive levels of technology in our cars. Our i-ACTIVSENSE advanced driver-supporting safety technology is a great example of Mazda using technology to help the driver. Experiencing how these systems work from behind the wheel is the perfect way for customers to understand their benefits and the Gadget Show Live indoor driving experience area is the ideal place to do this".
