The final Lexus LFA has rolled off the production line in Japan, signalling an end to production of the Japanese firm's first supercar.
The final LFA -- a white model featuring the LFA Nurburgring Package - left the company's Motomachi assembly plant last Friday. The final model was number 500 in a production run which lasted exactly two years. The LFA was produced at the rate of just one car every day.
The LFA's chief engineer, Haruhiko Tanahashi, said: "I've lived and breathed supercars for the past decade. Specifically one supercar, LFA. Very few people have the opportunity we had to create a world-class supercar from a blank sheet of paper."
Just five LFAs were sold in the UK during its two-year production run, perhaps due to its eye-watering price tag of £345,000.
Unsurprisingly, the LFA project failed to turn a profit; however, Lexus has said it will use the engineering expertise it gained through producing the LFA for future models.
