Kia is dipping a toe in the hot hatch market with a performance version of the new Pro_Cee'd.
It is also rumoured that a hot version of the Rio is in the pipelines.
Kia Pro_Cee'd hot hatch
The Pro_Cee'd, which was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last week, will be fitted with a 204bhp direct-injection turbocharged engine, along with a more aggressive body kit.
Very few details have been released, but Kia has hinted that the hot Pro_Cee'd may come with a dual-clutch, flappy-paddle transmission.
The Pro_Cee'd hot hatch is destined to hit the UK market next year, with prices estimated to start from around £20,000.
Hot Kia Rio
Kia is also considering developing a hot version of the Rio which would rival other small hot hatches such as the Fiesta ST and the Corsa VXR.
There are no details so far on the new hot Rio, but it seems likely that it could be released in the UK by the end of 2014, and would almost certainly feature a small turbocharged petrol engine.
