Kia has released the first official pictures of its new Pro_cee'd, ahead of its debut at the Paris Motor Show.
The Pro_cee'd is essentially just a three-door version of the standard Cee'd; however, the Pro_cee'd has much sportier styling than the Cee'd and the Cee'd Sportswagon and Kia is attempting to distance the three-door from its more practical brothers (much like Vauxhall does with the Astra GTC).
At first glance, we'd have to say that the Pro_cee'd looks excellent -- we approve of the sharp, angular styling and Kia's distinctive 'shark-nose' grille. The car's good looks are due in no small part to Peter Schreyer, Kia's Chief Design Officer, who has been with the company since 2006 and is the man who designed the original Audi TT, amongst others.
Kia has yet to reveal the engine line-up for the new Pro_cee'd, but expect a range of 1.4- and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines and a hot turbocharged 1.6-litre model.
The Pro_cee'd is expected to go on sale here in the UK early next year.
