The Icona Vulcano, a new one-off Italian supercar, has made its world debut at the Shanghai motor show.

We told you about the Icona earlier this month when the firm released a teaser image of the new Vulcano. Essentially, Icona is a Shanghai-based automotive design house which was founded in 2010 in order to fulfil the strong demand for high-end bespoke models from the Chinese market.

The Vulcano is the first model the firm has ever built. And as you'd expect from a company whose sole purpose is to satisfy the demands of an elite group of Chinese millionaires, it ain't cheap. In fact, sources indicate that the Vulcano could cost as much as two million euros.

Icona has yet to find a buyer for the Vulcano, but when a buyer is found, he or she will have the choice of two hybrid powertrain options.

The first of these powertrains -- named the H-Turismo -- mates a V12 petrol engine to a single electric motor, sending a total of 937bhp to the rear wheels.

The second, the H-Competizione, marries a twin-turbo V6 engine, which powers the rear wheels, to two electric motors, which drive the fronts, with a total output of 858bhp.

Icona claims that the H-Turismo will hit 62mph in 3.0 seconds and crack 217mph. The H-Competizione is capable of the same top speed, but will hit 62mph in just 3.9 seconds.
