Three new Hyundai models are to be given their European debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
Launching the brand's new slogan in Europe, 'New Thinking. New Possibilities', Hyundai has unveiled three new cars.
The first of the three new vehicles is the firm's all-new Europe-specific D-segment model, the i40, which gets its world debut in Geneva in Tourer form. The new i40 comes with either a frugal 1.7-litre diesel engine with low emissions of 113g/km or a new 2.0-litre petrol unit with high torque, and improved efficiency compared to previous 2.0-litre Hyundai engines. It also features a range of cutting-edge technology such as auto-defog system, which automatically detects mist on the windscreen and clears it, and a heated steering wheel.
Another new entry to the European market is the Hyundai Veloster, a sports coupe aiming to combine sporty looks with enhanced practicality and efficiency. The Veloster comes with a 1.6-litre GDI engine and six-speed double-clutch transmission and has CO2 emissions of 132g/km.
The third car getting its European debut in Geneva is the Curb concept. This is a compact Urban Activity Vehicle, which is being used to develop and showcase the upcoming Hyundai Blue LinkTM telematics technology, offering a broad range of connectivity options. It is powered by a 1.6-litre 172bhp petrol engine.
In addition to the new cars Hyundai will also be showcasing the latest developments in the firm's 'Blue Drive' sub-brand. Blue Drive technology is all about reducing emissions and improving fuel economy.
