Hyundai has released a teaser image of the Intrado, a new concept car which will be making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next year.
The Intrado appears to be an SUV or a crossover of some type and will feature Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture design language which was introduced by the firm's design chief Peter Schreyer.
Built around a new lightweight structure made from a variety of advanced materials, Hyundai claims that the methods used to construct the Intrado have "the potential to change the way cars are constructed in the future".
Power will come from a new hydrogen fuel cell drivetrain which is both smaller and lighter than the unit fitted to Hyundai's ix35 Fuel Cell.
The Intrado, which takes its name from the underside of an aircraft's wing, was styled and engineered mainly at Hyundai's R&D centre in Russelsheim, Germany.
Schreyer said: "Hyundai Intrado envisages a motoring future that encapsulates the efficiency and freedom associated with flying. I believe in the power of mobility to deliver emotional as well as physical connections and this car helps us find again the joy of discovery. Intrado shows that future cars can be relevant and exciting."
More information on the Intrado will be released ahead of the car's Geneva debut in March.
