The new Honda FCEV Concept has made its world debut today at the Los Angeles Motor Show, previewing the direction Honda could take with its next-generation fuel-cell vehicle.
The FCEV features the latest in Honda's line of fuel-cell technology and is fitted with the world's highest density fuel stack -- 60 per cent better than the one fitted to Honda's current fuel-cell vehicle: the FCX Clarity.
In addition to this, the fuel stack is 33 per cent smaller than before, allowing it to be packaged completely in the engine bay of the vehicle. This will make it much easier for Honda to incorporate the technology into new vehicles in the future.
Honda claims that the FCEV is anticipated to deliver a driving range of more than 300 miles with a refuelling time of around three minutes.
Tetsuo Iwamura, president and CEO of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. said: "The Honda FCEV Concept hints at Honda's future direction for fuel-cell vehicles.
"While this car is a concept, it points toward a very real future."
