Owners of the 2012-onwards Ford Focus ST will be interested to know that leading performance Ford specialists have launched a new tuning package which will enable them to extract even more from their already formidable motor.

Graham Goode Racing has developed a package which will increase the power output from the Focus ST 2.0T by 46bhp, and torque by 90lb/ft. As a result, examples fitted with the GGR package will see their peak power leap to 296bhp and torque to a stunning 365lb/ft. The upgrade package will also offer increased power boosts further down the 2.0-litre Ecoboost engine’s rev range, gaining an additional 66bhp at 4,046rpm.

The GGR ST300 package is available from just £1503.60 (plus VAT) fitted by the Leicester-based fast Ford specialists, or supplied as a do-it-yourself package for £1336.80. The package works by forgoing the standard Ford airbox fitted on the Focus 2.0T and replacing it with a specially-developed Cold Air Induction System. Constructed in motorsport-standard carbon fibre or polyester with a high-flow K&N filter and aluminium trumpet Mass Air Flow meter housing, the system removes the restriction on airflow imposed by the standard airbox as power levels increase. The system is designed to utilise the standard air pick up point in the front radiator grille, but offers a more direct path for incoming air to the direct injection 2.0-litre turbo engine. The ST300 package also modifies the exhaust system to overcome the usual constraints on exhaust gas flow, and incorporates a 200 CPSI high-flow sports catalysts to ensure the car is still UK MOT compliant. Finally, the package includes an ECU remap which recalibrates the electronic fuelling, ignition, and boost control. This remap has been developed in co-operation with Buckingham-based performance electronics specialists Superchips, and is uploaded via the Ford Focus’ On-Board Diagnostics port.

Graham Goode, Chief Executive of the eponymous racing Ford tuning specialists, said “With the earliest Focus ST 2.0T models about to fall out of their 3 year manufacturer’s warranty period this is the ideal time for GGR to launch this upgrade, which offers Ford enthusiasts more of a choice of quality tuning options than ever before.”
