In what it claims is a first for the premium saloon segment, Volvo have unveiled a Cross Country version of the S60 at the Detroit Auto Show.
Volvo all-road capable Cross Country models have proved a hit with customers since their introduction in 1997, with the V70 Cross Country estate.
As with Volvo’s other Cross Country models, the new S60 Cross Country comes with an increased ride height and all-wheel drive, although it will also be available in front-wheel drive from in the UK and other selected markets. The model will come with a choice of both 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels, with noise-reducing high profile tyres. The front-wheel drive version will debut first, powered by a 190bhp D4 Diesel engine, with the all-wheel drive model to follow with a 5-cylinder 2.4-litre diesel.
Pricing structure for the Volvo S60 Cross Country is expected to be announced in Spring, with order books to open shortly after. Deliveries are planned to commence from July.
