The new Rio will benefit from changes to its design, trim and specification and was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show.
Kia have achieved a more sporty, edgy appearance by upgrading the front and rear bumpers; they will also offer unique 16’’ and 17’’ alloy wheels on all models other than the two entry level options. Urban Blue will replace Electric Blue in the range of paint choices and the sporty look will be further reinforced by a new slimline interpretation of the ‘tiger nose’ grille which blends into the headlamp units.
Depending on the trim and model purchased, the new Rio will offer touch screen satellite navigation, wing mirrors which are heated and electrically adjustable, digital radio and tyre pressure monitoring. 19 versions of the compact supermini will be offered in three and five door options.
Most models will feature start/stop technology, contributing towards an impressive 88.3mpg reached by the 1.1 litre diesel engine.
Kia are committed to providing a high level of safety regardless of the cost of the car; to that end they have equipped each Rio model with the same safety system. This includes Electronic Stability Control, emergency brake assist, twin front side and curtain airbags and ISOFIX top tethers and anchors.
