A German driver has managed to crash his car into roadworks, claiming that his sat-nav instructed him to do so.

The incident occurred after the man turned onto a road in Schmiedefeld, Thuringia. Ignoring repeated signs warning him of the roadworks ahead, the 47-year-old blindly continued taking orders from his sat-nav and ploughed into the site.

Both the car and the site were extensively damaged and the driver is expected to have to pay for the damage to both.

It's just goes to show that "I was only following orders" is not an excuse. It didn't work at Nuremberg, and it doesn't work here.
